Hilo High’s BIIF football game Friday night against Konawaena was postponed because of inclement weather in Kealakekua.
No makeup day was immediately announced.
Labor Day Drags set to rev up
The Big Island Auto Club’s Labor Day Drags will be held Saturday and Sunday at Hilo Drag Strip.
Events include ET bracket racing, bikes and junior dragsters.
Gates open at 8 a.m. and the tech shed closes at 11 a.m.
Alumni hoops tournament
The men’s alumni basketball tournament runs Saturday through Sunday at Andrews Gym in Hilo and Shipman Gym in Keaau, with championships on tap Monday at Hilo High’s gym.
There is an open division, men’s 35-and-over division and a women’s division.
HGEA golf tourney on tap
Hawaii Government Employees Association will be conducting a fellowship golf tournament at Hilo Municipal Golf Course, with tee times starting at 8:24 a.m. Sept. 26.
Participation is open to all members in good standing and golfers are encouraged to set their own foursomes.

Honokaa hoops camp Oct. 9-11
The Kalakaua Basketball Camp will be held Oct 9-11 at Honokaa Parks and Recreation Gym.
Featuring Dennis Agena, the camp is open to children in kindergarten through the 12th grade at a fee of $60, which can be mailed to Daphne Honma, P. O. Box 355, Paauilo, HI 96776 – write “Kalakaua Basketball Camp” in memo.
Sessions will be broken down to kindergarten through sixth grade (9 a.m.-noon) and grades 7-12 (1-4 p.m.), and each is limited to 90 applicants.
Deadline to mail in applications is Sept. 23 and walk-ins will be accepted.
Applications can be picked up at Honokaa Gym from Cheyenne Meyer or at Honokaa High and Intermediate School (ask for Daphne Honma) or online at bigislandallstars.weebly.com
